New Book: Ligo na U, Lapit na Me by Eros S. Atalia

I was able to have a quick tour inside a book store earlier this day and I didn't waste a time searching for this book by Eros S. Atalia--Ligo na U, Lapit na Me. I first saw this book last week as I was paying for some supplies at the cashier. I thought it has a funny title. I am quite fond of reading this type of books being Bob Ong as my favorite author.

It was only a few days ago that I learned from YouTube that this book was actually made into an Indie film. I clicked on the play button to take a peek and I was quite impressed of the story.

Ligo na U, Lapit na Me is a story about a college student named Intoy who had a 'special' kind of relationship with his classmate named Jenny. They do not consider themselves as a couple but they both enjoy the benefits of being one.


 I love Intoy and Jenny.

Prince William and Kate Middleton: A Fairytale Wedding

I am one of the billion watchers from all over the world who eagerly watched the exchange of vows of the most famous couple of the century--Prince William and Kate Middleton. I actually was teary eyed while I watch Kate walk down the aisle and when she and Prince William walked on the aisle for the first time as husband and wife. It was a really touching experience although I only saw it on television.  Perhaps the most awaited reveal of the wedding is the designer of Kate's dress. Well, lo and behold, it was Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen! The dress is reminiscent of Grace Kelly's wedding dress --classy and not as grand as everybody expected it to be--but, nevertheless, seeing her in a McQueen dress is an unforgettable moment in fashion and it will surely be on the list of the most iconic dresses of all time. Hostage Drama Is Not Yet Over

I feel sad about what happened at the Quirino Grandstand a few days ago.  I purposely did not blog about it while it was happening to at least show respect for the people who are in a very difficult situation.  After many hours of negotiation that ended in a bloodbath, I just feel sorrier for the victims and my fellow Filipinos who had nothing to do with what happened that day.  I have read so many articles about countries hating the Philippines because of the tragic event.  Just now in the news, one of our Senators had a taste of their anger when an airport official in Hong Kong allegedly threw his passport.   I feel bad about the deranged former policeman, too.  He was dismissed from service because of grave misconduct and administrative charges filed against him and three other policemen when they allegedly planted a drug evidence to a chef who works in a hotel in Manila.  Justice is still not served at the time of this writing.  He was an accomplished police officer as proven by t
