Hair Volumizing Inserts

Image
Do you ever wonder how hair stylists keep celebrity poufs pouf all day/night long ?  The old school trick is to tease the hair and hair spray like crazy... but it doesn't guarantee all day glam.  The answer to keeping hair pouf in place is the WoWowHair . Three steps is all you need to achieve instant glam and tamed hair.  It acts like a headband only worn underneath a section of the hair to make it invisible.  The teeth will keep it in place so you will never have to worry about your pouf droop.

Be My Valentine

Image
It is Valentine's Day on Sunday and our office will have a pre-Valentine's Party on the 12th (tomorrow!).  Everyone should wear anything red tomorrow, be it pants, top, accessory or undergarment .  I freaked out a little because I only have two red things in my closet and I've worn one last week... that means I am left with only one and I could not definitely wear it tomorrow.  Maybe later I'll have an emergency shopping and I am thinking of buying a red shoe.  Argh! Whatever! I hate last minute shopping! For all of you out there here are some red items that will help you survive V-day in style. Red satin one-shoulder dress from Badgley Mischka Platinum Label, $795 $477 at Bluefly .   Black Halo 'Jackie' belted minidress , $361 at Nordstrom .   Kalliste red pumps , $189.89 at Yoox .   Michael by Michael Kors 'Fulton' sandals , $98 at Zappos .   Heart Lock hinged wallet , $11.99 at Tilly's .   Jessica McClintock sequins and satin ...

Elizabeth and James Send1 Wedge

Image
From this view you would not think this is a wedge shoe.  When I first saw this, I thought it is a potato sack that was made to a home decor.  Haha!   From this view it is starting to look like a shoe.   From this view you get the whole idea of the shoe.  This Elizabeth and James Send1 wedge shoe has a snake embossed upper leather, cushioned leather foot bed,  pointed toe in a 4 1/2 inch heel that gives the perfect illusion of wearing a potato sack for a foot wear.  If you like it, get it here (it is actually on sale).

Sneakers That Aren't Made for Running

Image
Sneakers are supposed to be made for running or walking long distance.  This design has made its comeback (I first saw heeled sneakers when I was in high school) and hopefully this will be its last.  But, if you would like to have one for let's say to complete your shoe collection, click here .

Mirror Image: Nude Wedge Boots

Image
The two are not exactly the same, just to clarify but both are boots, peep toe, nude and wedge so I might as well consider them as mirror image.  The Rich Hippie laser cut out wedge is $315 at Neiman Marcus while the Kelsi Dagger nude wedge is only $148 at Urban Outfitters .  I could not decide which is best disregarding the price.  What do you think?

Devil In Disguise

Image
This Alexander McQueen boots will surely unleash the devil in you.  The zipper-toothed edging and exposed sides are a mix of sexy and edgy.  For $999 at Zappos Couture , other boots will shy away from this pair.

Wrap Around Boots: Splurge, Save and Steal

I couldn't possibly wear boots in the Philippines at the current season but I would like to own a pair in preparation for the rainy days come June.  I am currently wanting a pair of wrap around boots because it is a perfect complement to my bad-ass self.  Many Hollywood stars like Carrie Underwood , Jennifer Love Hewitt and Mariah Carey are sporting this kind of boots in town and they all looked chic.  Again, here is my splurge, save and steal options for the wrap around boots: SPLURGE Dolce Vita strappy platform boots, $398 $339 at Victoria's Secret . In for Spring

Image
Shopping sites banner gives its shoppers a hint on what is in this spring. Spring trends on the runways like nudes and pastels, animal prints, florals, fringes and latticeworks are resonating in shopping sites--you will never be lost in finding the latest trends this season.   Neiman Marcus shouts Flora & Fauna in their site and offering designs by Manolo Blahnik, Prada, Stuart Weitzman, Guiseppe Zanotti and others.  Stand-out designs are strappy sandals in nude and animal prints, hobos and totes in spring colors and floral designs are the new arrivals for the season, while dresses that are beautifully draped or in tribal prints are in.   Bloomingdale's  makes the cut in their banner by showcasing shoes in latticework, fringe and weaving. Again tribal print and nude tops are the latest additions, while studs and animal prints rule the bags for the season.   Macy's combined tough and tender to emphasize the ruling trends this season.  Mixing ruffle...

In The Mood for Nude

Image
Nude is one of the re-appearing trends in the runways and I couldn't agree less if designers always include it in their collection regardless of the season because it is a versatile color and although it washes out fair skinned, it is generally flattering.  Hollywood stars like Penelope Cruz , Sienna Miller and even Angelina Jolie strutted a nude gown with a dramatic side slit during the Cannes Film Festival.  The Golden Globes was also not spared by nude gorgeous gowns.  Here are some nude things that you might want to include in your wardrobe. This Valentino Glamorous Bow Pumps, $695 at Saks Fifth Avenue , with the bow detail at the back made this pump really interesting.  Wear with a dress that shows your legs so that your friends will ogle with envy at the beauty of your shoe.  The D&G Royal Peep-toe Pump gives the same effect as the Valentino pump for a fraction of the cost.  Get this at Forward Forward for $315 (previously $525).   Thi...

Corsets for Men... WTF!

Image
Photo from NY Magazine John Galliano is really pulling the fashion rope here!  He showcased the corsets for men during his Fall 2010 Menswear Collection . Corsets worn by women are sexy but corsets worn by men are simply hilarious and outrageous!  Why would a man wear a corset anyway??? ... To squeeze him below there???  I don't wanna see my employee in wearing a corset under his suit.  I couldn't imagine being with this guy in the boardroom.  I don't want any boxer to wear a corset to protect him from low blows.  I don't wanna see my man wearing a corset under his coat and sans the pants.  Sorry John, it takes my breath away... from laughing.

Dress for Luck on 2010

Image
According to feng shui experts , the lucky colors for 2010 are blue and light yellow.  Blue symbolizes water while light yellow symbolizes peace. In the color spectrum , blue and yellow are primary colors and if you mix them together you will have green.  Green is the color of money and life.  Having this analogy, aren't you going to try your luck wearing any of the two colors or both at the same time? Here are some blue and yellow stuffs you might want to try. JACKET     Keep yourself warm in these classic jackets.  If you want to hide bulges, jackets are the sure way to wear but be careful with the cut and fit.  If you can cross your arms comfortably while wearing a jacket, it is the right fit for you.   Navy blue Anthropologie Letizia Cardigan $118.  This will cinch your waist , minimize your hips and elongate your neck .   Signature Stretch Sateen Collection:Short-Sleeve Jacket $21.99 at Spiegel .
