Favorite Photo of the Day: A Walk Down the Aisle

Image
I was a proud mom last August 21.  It was Lance's first time to wear a barong and his first time to walk down the aisle as one of the wedding entourage.  I was expecting him to throw tantrums but he just walked with his little partner all by himself.  He just sat in front of the altar and did not mind if the rest of the boys were playing and standing.  I got a lot of compliments for his behavior all throughout the ceremony. It was really a proud moment for me.

I Am A Spoiler

Image
Lance is growing up so fast.  I don't want to miss out on anything that involves him.  I noticed that these past few days he would involve me in singing and dancing.  It is harder for me to leave him because he doesn't want to go anywhere without me, he would ask me to stand and sing with him Barney's I Love You song.  It was fun and really heart warming, really.  Those moments are what push me to give him his heart's desires.  He is very much into Thomas and Friends that each time we would to go the mall or market, he would buy anything that looks like a train.  He actually knows the names of all the engines of the popular British series.  He would line up all the engines and coaches and pretend that they are racing.  Having said his liking the blue train, I bought him a railway set yesterday.  I am a spoiler.  When he saw the toy in our living room, his eyes lit up and he gave me his biggest grin... he momentarily forgot everything about the world.  He loved the toy

Hostage Drama Is Not Yet Over

I feel sad about what happened at the Quirino Grandstand a few days ago.  I purposely did not blog about it while it was happening to at least show respect for the people who are in a very difficult situation.  After many hours of negotiation that ended in a bloodbath, I just feel sorrier for the victims and my fellow Filipinos who had nothing to do with what happened that day.  I have read so many articles about countries hating the Philippines because of the tragic event.  Just now in the news, one of our Senators had a taste of their anger when an airport official in Hong Kong allegedly threw his passport.   I feel bad about the deranged former policeman, too.  He was dismissed from service because of grave misconduct and administrative charges filed against him and three other policemen when they allegedly planted a drug evidence to a chef who works in a hotel in Manila.  Justice is still not served at the time of this writing.  He was an accomplished police officer as proven by t

Favorite Video of the Day: Gay Friends' Reactions Over Miss Philippines During the Miss Universe 2010 Pageant

I saw this video last night and I laughed from beginning until the end.  I actually almost cried laughing.  This is one of the many reasons why I love the company of gay friends.

Blog Entry of the Day: Not Alone by Fickle Cattle

It has been a week of no good reads for me.  I am glad that Fickle Cattle decided to re-post the entry Not Alone.  Fickle Cattle narrates his personal story (encounter) with this man he 'almost' fell in love with.   After a year of not seeing each other and with just a brief catching up moment with this guy in the same bar where they met, he felt he was not alone.  His story took me back to my days of diaries.  I love it! Miss Philippines' Final Question

Many critics said that it could have been a more glorious moment for the Philippines if Venus Raj presented a more concrete and confident answer to William Baldwin's rather easy question: What is your biggest mistake in life and what did you do to make it right? Miss Philippines answered it in all smiles with: Thank you so much Sir for that wonderful question.  You know what Sir, in my 22 years of existence, I can say that there is nothing major major, I mean problem that I have done in my life because I am very confident with my family, with the love that they are giving me.  So, thank you so much that I am here, thank you thank you so much. It isn't easy being on the spotlight so, let us just be proud that after so many years, a Filipina has made her way to the Miss Universe top 5.

Venus Raj Miss Universe 4th Runner-up

Congratulations to Miss Philippines Venus Raj for being the 4th Runner-up in the recently concluded Miss Universe 2010.  It was another proud moment for the Filipinos worldwide.

Situation

I am having a situation, aside from our house being flooded yesterday.  I am slightly bothered about how things will end.  I will try to live by the moment.  I am just happy that my son is happy.  Everything else about me doesn't matter anymore.

Furniture Retail Software: Business Solution

I received good news from a friend that her business loan has been approved.  She planned to put up her very own furniture business two years ago.  She loves to design and interior decorate and her passion for the two made her decide to venture into business.  She asked me of the next things that she should do.  Of course, aside from sourcing suppliers and marketing her store, she has to have furniture retail software to help her in the inventory, tracking sales, processing of orders, reports and other essential business transactions. I could not wait for the opening of her store!

Miss Universe 2010 Pageant

Image
I love to watch beauty pageants, I enjoy  the glitz and glamor and the nerve racking waiting for the results.  Of course I feel sad whenever my country's bet didn't make it in the finals but nevertheless, I feel proud that we are represented.  Speaking of which, the 2010 Miss Universe Pageant will be held on the 23rd at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. The Philippines is represented by Venus Raj who is really a fighter--like any woman should be.  I am glad she kept her title despite controversies that surround her after the Bb. Pilipinas pageant.  To my kababayans, please vote for her by clicking on this link .  She now has an average rating of 3.7--the highest among all the contestants.

Singing In My Head

I started singing in my head "I did my best but I guess my best wasn't good enough" in the middle of doing my VA task.  Yes, that is James Ingram's Just Once.  Of all the songs...  It is not that it has a significant meaning, I just find it weird because for one, it isn't my favorite song and I am not playing any music to influence me into singing it.  In fact, whenever I hear the song it reminds me of a neighbor who always sing it whenever he joins contests.  He did not win in any of those. I love to sing and I enjoy watching singing contests, both local and abroad.  I don't have the voice that would sell albums but I get a 100 score in Magic Sing... that's enough affirmation that I have the potential.  Haha!  I just love it whenever I express my love for myself.  Going back to my watching contests, of all the amateur singing contests that I have watched, these are the most popular song choices: 1. My Way by Frank Sinatra - this is so popular that there

Doppelganger or Out of The Body Experience

My office mate gave me the creeps yesterday.  I reported one hour late for work because I had a severe headache.  After only a few minutes in the office, my office mate asked me if my other office mate was inside.  I said no because I did not see her when I got in the office and I was the only one inside.  I asked her why and she said our boss thought she saw our office mate enter the room wearing a gray blazer and her usual hairstyle.  We thought maybe it was just me she saw but I was wearing a green blazer and my hair was up.  Our boss went inside the room and insisted that she saw my office mate entering the room a few minutes ago. Our missing office mate reported late for work too because of fever and I asked her if by any chance she wore a gray blazer in the morning.  She said she was wearing a gray blazer earlier that day but since she could not make it in the office, she changed her clothes and went to sleep again. Goosebumps!   Could it be a doppelganger or her soul got out

Have Internet, Nothing To Write

Image
I can't believe that after all that I've been through just to have my internet connection back, I am now staring at my computer without anything in mind.  I hate ironies.  In the most recent book that I have read, Primal Management by Paul Herr , you have to give yourself some timeout if you want to solve a problem.  It also says there that you should surround yourself with positive energies to let ideas flow freely into your mind.  He suggests taking a run at the park, brisk walk or have a coffee at your favorite coffeshop... do the things that will make your mind and body relax.  So, now I am thinking of what relaxing thing I should do to let ideas flow.   Sleep.

One Happy Mommy

My day went perfectly well simply because my son started it all with words that I least expect would come from his mouth. I was awakened by a kiss from Lance and these exact words, "Mommy, sexy ka (you are sexy)!".  I was taken aback by the words... I know I am not the exact definition of the word sexy but anyway I took it as a compliment because maybe he meant I was nice or I am a great mommy.  I chuckled and hugged him tightly. Last night when I got home from work, he was eating dinner at our grandmother's and he smiled at me and said, "Let's eat."  I asked him what did he bring me from the mall and he said, "Panties."  I asked him where did he put the panties and he said, "Far far away."  I nearly cried laughing. He always surprise me with his wittiness and I am so proud. I couldn't be any happier.

Salt

Finally! I love love love Salt!  That is three loves there so that means Salt-iness would probably linger in me for a long time.  Do not blame me for being this so excited about the movie because I have been waiting for it to be shown months ago.  Finally, I was able to watch it today.  The stunts were amazing, I heard Angie did most of the stunts herself.  In Iron Man, the villain was a Russian and now Salt evolves in Russian spies.  I wonder what's with Russians that they are often portrayed in movies as villains and on the dark side.  Really mysterious... Based on the ending, I bet there will be a part 2. PS: I hate it when technology "seems" to go against me.  I can post a blog but I could not insert a photo.  Dearie me...  So, my apologies for a really bare post.

Bad Fad: Cutout Dresses

Cutouts.... well, cut it out or be a don't like her.  I can name three don'ts in this photo alone.
