Photo from Gucci . I admit, I liked Gucci's S/S 2011 Collection the very first time I saw it. I like the bright colors and details of each piece that complements other pieces of the entire collection. Everybody loves Gucci , even Hollywood stars can agree to me that Gucci is one of the most coveted brands of the season. Elizabeth and James needs to be applauded for making gorgeous sandals at reasonable prices. I am not wondering why Marc Jacobs was hired by Louis Vuitton . He just creates the most beautiful things in the world like the braided 'Ossie' bag that I am wanting to have this season.

Moms Work In the Comforts of Home

Although this entry generally points out that being a domesticated bummer has a potential of earning while at home, jobless males and non-mothers or housewives will also benefit by reading further.   I am a mother and a career woman who takes care of the bills and how to pay those without having to seek help from anyone.  My being involved in online freelance jobs started six months ago when I was thinking of giving up my 8 to 5 job.  I know that the economic recession has made job hunting a harder task to do so I have to think of something that will help me earn money while waiting to get hired full-time.  I am not a techie but I love browsing the web for interesting topics and latest news.   My planning to resign and my being an internet junkie led me to the discovery of online freelancing.  In this time of economic downfall, moms can also help generate income by being at home.  I know that most households are struggling to make ends mee...

Finding the Perfect Nanny

Months before I gave birth to my son, aside from the many other concerns a parent has , I was already concerned about who will take care of him when I start working again.  I asked my grandmother if she could recommend someone to be my son's nanny during daytime.  Lucky for me, we have networks and good neighbors to assist me in finding the perfect nanny.  Finding a nanny is as hard as mining gold.  Everything has to be planned accordingly like if I have enough budget for the salary, what benefits should I give, the rules that needs to be followed and all sorts of things crucial to my child's welfare.  I have heard many stories about abusive nannies and nannies who are being abused and I don't want these horrible stories to happen in my household.  I have read many tips on how to find a nanny but so far, this article gives the best and straightforward tips that are easy to apply. The Search - a wide network helps in finding a nanny.  Recommendat...

Guide to Gaydom

I have many gay friends and I wonder why they are called gay.  Was it because they are naturally happy and jolly?  I will not spend much time searching for the answer, all I know is that they make me laugh and they teach me so many things about life. I was never an anti-gay or anti-lesbian, I actually don't consider them as different from the rest of us who are "straight", it just so happens that they have different preferences.  I have heard many a sad stories about them being afraid of coming out because their family might disown them and much more triumphant stories of them being accepted.  I remember one of my friends who 'straightens up' whenever he's at home but 'loosens up' whenever he's with us.  It is sad that in front of his family, he becomes a different person. I am glad that they are now being accepted for who they are and that more and more are starting to come out and share their experience to the world.  I have found this site ...

Freelancing On the Internet

Just to clarify, I am not a "full time" freelancer ... confusing, eh?  I have an 8 to 5 job from Monday to Friday and a month ago, I stumbled upon this website that hires online talents.  I tried registering.  I passed their "entrance examination" with a grade above average and completed my profile so that prospective employers will have an idea about what they will get themselves into if they hire me.  To make my profile irresistible to employers, I took several skills test which includes knowledge of the English language, word processing, customer service, human resources, and other skills that I thought I know.  So far, so good. What led me to freelancing is plainly an accident that I do not regret.  It is something that I love to do that allows me to earn extra while I am at the comforts of my own home.  It doesn't interfere with my daily activities and each time I get a new job, it feels like being hired for the first time.  Although I am j...

Nicky's Canary Jewelry Collection

Image
I was looking for some interesting things to blog, yes I got tired of blogging about the latest news in town, and I missed my blogging about the things that I love... shoes, bags, makeup and jewelries .  To my searching for these things, I landed on Nicky's Canary and I found this bracelet that is appropriately named as Dreamsicle. Do you have a dream? Believe in your dream and do something about it to make it come true.  That is what the designer, W. Nicole, had in mind when she made this bracelet.  True enough, the inspiration was clearly manifested in this dreamy and charming creation. Quaint... this the word that best describes Nicky's Canary collection of jewelries. It reminds me of teatime and siestas in the olden times. Expensive Chinas were laid on the table covered with crisp white linen at the porch while grandma pours her perfectly concocted tea into the teacup.

I Am Not (Yet) Addicted To Facebook

Image
Created by Oatmeal I am not (yet) addicted to Facebook... the result confirms it.   I admit to signing in to my Facebook account first before checking my email and I do get worried if it is past my harvesting time... but I am not (yet) addicted to Facebook. I admit to having more than 10 apps in my account but I regularly play/maintain only 5 (Pet Society, Restaurant City, Farmville, Home Inn, Petville and Medical Meyhem) and I recently added Ponzi, Inc. as  one of my regular games. I admit to answering several surveys and quizzes in Facebook, in fact I used to check my good/evil status daily. I am not (yet) addicted to Facebook, I only have 193 friends. What is good about it is it is just so fun to catch up with old friends and tagging them on the oldest picture you could ever find. I am not (yet) addicted to Facebook... and I am in denial.

The Inmates are at It Again

Image
This is one of the many reasons why I don't lose hope for mankind.  The Dancing Inmates of Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) in the Philippines are at it again, now dancing to the tune of Michael Jackson's This Is It. The inmates' first taste of fame was when they all danced to MJ's Thriller and with their success, they were visited by MJ's long-time choreographer Travis Payne together with Daniel Celebre and Dres Reid to teach them how to dance This Is It. Time and time again, this proves that even the nation's most notorious criminals can be molded into disciplined individuals.  This is one of the best ways to commemorate the King of Pop's invaluable contribution to the entertainment industry.  If he's still alive today, he'd be proud that these guys were able to pull off a great choreography to a great song.  Enjoy!
