Moms Work In the Comforts of Home

Although this entry generally points out that being a domesticated bummer has a potential of earning while at home, jobless males and non-mothers or housewives will also benefit by reading further.  

I am a mother and a career woman who takes care of the bills and how to pay those without having to seek help from anyone.  My being involved in online freelance jobs started six months ago when I was thinking of giving up my 8 to 5 job.  I know that the economic recession has made job hunting a harder task to do so I have to think of something that will help me earn money while waiting to get hired full-time.  I am not a techie but I love browsing the web for interesting topics and latest news.   My planning to resign and my being an internet junkie led me to the discovery of online freelancing.

    I have to agree.. I'm a housewife and a mother to a baby boy.. I work online as a VA.. being home-based need not stop you from earning.

    Hi, this is Nicole from vWorker (formerly known as Rentacoder). Like Elance, vWorker provides access to a wide variety of jobs. Success at these types of sites strongly depends on what these services offer, and the services available at Elance (or unavailable -- depending on how you want to look at it) could limit that success. Consider the following:

    1. Workers on Elance cannot place more than 3 bids a month unless they pay a subscription fee ($9.95/month for 20, $19.94/month for 40 or $39.95/month for 60).

    2. On Elance a Employer can challenge you with an arbitration at any time. If they do, you must either choose to pay the non-refundable arbitration fee ($66-$133) or forfeit your money-back guarantee.

    In addition, an Employer intent on abusing the system can stall the start of arbitration on Elance for 21 business days and during this period your money is not available to you.

    3. Elance does not guarantee any hours until you've worked at least 80 hours. During this time you may find yourself working for free. Elance only guarantees to pay you for the first 40 hours you work in a week. If you are working longer hours to help a client, you may find yourself working for free.

I am one of the billion watchers from all over the world who eagerly watched the exchange of vows of the most famous couple of the century--Prince William and Kate Middleton. I actually was teary eyed while I watch Kate walk down the aisle and when she and Prince William walked on the aisle for the first time as husband and wife. Hostage Drama Is Not Yet Over

I feel sad about what happened at the Quirino Grandstand a few days ago.  I purposely did not blog about it while it was happening to at least show respect for the people who are in a very difficult situation.  After many hours of negotiation that ended in a bloodbath, I just feel sorrier for the victims and my fellow Filipinos who had nothing to do with what happened that day.  I have read so many articles about countries hating the Philippines because of the tragic event.  Just now in the news, one of our Senators had a taste of their anger when an airport official in Hong Kong allegedly threw his passport.   I feel bad about the deranged former policeman, too.  He was dismissed from service because of grave misconduct and administrative charges filed against him and three other policemen when they allegedly planted a drug evidence to a chef who works in a hotel in Manila.  Justice is still not served at the time of this writing.  He was an accomplished police officer as proven by t
