Can I has cheeseburger? And 50 thousand pesos?

Image
I am craving for cheeseburger! And my favorite cheeseburger maker--McDonalds is giving away 50 thousand pesos every day for McDelivery orders. Too bad, McDo is too far away from home to deliver. If you have McDonald's near you, good luck because you already qualify. If you want to know more about this promo, click on the link. Go ahead, I know you are craving for a cheeseburger too.

Why are you still single?

Image
The dreaded question of all in any family gathering or school reunion is "Why are you still single?" Why not? To avoid being questioned, you might as well send a mail or email with a Singleton Holiday Card enclosed so the moment you visit them this Christmas, you will be asked of the more important questions other than your current relationship status. It looks something like this...

Dream Interpretation: Building, Holding Hands, Ocean, Whirlpool

Image
Photo from here . I dreamed of being on a city, something like New Delhi, with my son and his dad. We were looking for a place to stay, an apartment or condo, but couldn't find any that suits our tastes. We headed towards a small community near the ocean and from afar I saw two tall, pink and blue buildings swaying... close to kissing the ground. I was dead scared but an old woman assured me that it was built that way. After a while, the tide began to rise and a whirlpool started to form right before my eyes. I immediately called Allan to secure Lance and to hold my hands as we grab hold of the huge wooden post. As soon as we hold our hands, the water engulfed us. The water subsided. I was frantic and afraid. I began searching for Lance. I was afraid he'd drown. And, alas, I saw him under water, grabbed his hand and took him out of the water. He's fine. Crying, but, alright. I next searched for Allan and saw him on the other side of the beach. According to Dream Mo

I am still thankful...

Happy Thanksgiving! Aside from the many blessings I have received this year, there is one thing special that I am really grateful for today... it is my son's second life. Last Friday at around 2:30 in the afternoon while I was busy giving directions to my office staff, I received a news that my son was rushed to the Emergency Room because he was hit and run by a motorcycle. That was the most devastating news any mother could hear about her child. I was not prepared for the day. I immediately rushed to the ER to check on him and he was crying and in pain. I heard him asked the nurse "Where's my Mommy? Where's Daddy?". My heart felt like it stopped beating when I saw him drenched in blood. He had contusion and wound on his forehead, arms and left leg. His right leg was fractured and could not move. At 6:00 in the evening he was scheduled for wound debridement, suturing and casting. He cried and cried while waiting for the schedule until he felt tired. I acc

Don't be rude

Don't be rude. Don't walk away if a person is still talking to you even if you already said goodbye. It is too disappointing to know that this person of known government position did it to a fellow female worker. The worst feeling is that I have known this man in position for years now and seeing him acting so unbecoming of a gentleman is so beyond words to explain. Intimidation, threat and coercion will not earn you respect.

Coming Soon: Snow White and the Huntsman

Image
It seems that fairy tale characters are the target of movie producers to attract moviegoers once again. This time, Snow White gets to tell her story through Kirsten Stewart who portrays the lead role. The evil queen is played by Charlize Theron--I think she is the perfect actress for the role. Chris Hemsworth will make our hearts throb as he portrays the huntsman. This story is completely different from the Snow White story we know as it narrates the other side of the story... Snow White's first savior--the huntsman who was summoned by the queen to kill her in the forest. Little did the queen know, he was secretly training Snow White in the art of war. The movie will be released on June 1, 2012.

Pacquiao Won!

Image
Manny Pacquiao beat Juan Manuel Marquez for the last time in Welterweight division. The pound for pound boxing champ, Pacman, did not give what was expected of him but nonetheless, by majority decision, he remains the champion. I watched the most awaited rematch on live television and saw first hand how the two fighters performed. I believe that Marquez gave his all to this fight--it was the fight of a lifetime for him, a chance to prove that he is the real champion. Round 1 ended, 2, 3, 4 and 5... both seemed to be even. Round 6 came, 7, 8, 9, 10... it seems Marquez dominated the 5 rounds. The last two rounds were critical for Pacquiao... no knockout. It was a nerve wracking 2 minutes or so waiting for the decision. While the judges tally their scores, Jinkee Pacquiao was teary eyed, Marquez started to make his little celebration on the other side of the ring, Pacquiao knelt to pray and eventually approached Marquez as if confirming the latter's reason for celebration.

The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown

Image
I bought this book last Wednesday and I was able to finish it last night. Dan Brown has taken a lot of sleeping time from me. This book gave me the same excitement as the Angels and Demons  and has intensified my interest in conspiracy theories. I have read an article before, a publication of Catholic origin, vehemently denying the allegations that Jesus Christ had a relationship with Mary Magdalene and that they actually had a child. This book, no wonder, made international buzz... it contradicts Catholic dogma. Dan Brown is surely a great storyteller. He puts you in a position that you almost question your beliefs.

Paquiao vs. Marquez Round III

Image
On Sunday at MGM in Las Vegas, the world will finally witness another boxing event that will leave a mark in the world of sports and hopefully will end the question of who is the world's greatest boxer. <a href="http://polldaddy.com/poll/5660870/">Who do you think will win?</a>

Angels and Demons by Dan Brown

Image
I finished reading Angels and Demons by Dan Brown in a record breaking two days. I normally finish a book in  four to five days and that was when I was so hooked at Harry Potter. This book is so believable. It almost made me think twice about reality. It fueled my interest in conspiracy theories, the ancient times, science and religion. Each chapter brought me, through my imagination, to Rome. Next book that I will buy will definitely be The Da Vinci Code, also by Dan Brown.

Updates! Updates!

It's been a while... My younger sister gave birth to a healthy boy last October 22. He looks like my son when I gave birth to him. He is too cute for words! How I wish I could carry him. They are living in another country so we'd probably see him when he is already walking. I brought up the news to dad and he asked why I didn't name my son that starts with "J"... I broke the unwritten rule... his  name starts with "J' and so are my sisters, brothers and nieces. A few weeks ago I have been busy going around town meeting new faces, meeting clients and taking driving lessons. I don't know if I mentioned in this blog that I promise to have a driver's license before I turn the big 3-0. Yep! I already know how to drive. I'll get my non-professional license before the end of this month. SO HAPPY! We had a Halloween party in our grandmother's house. It was organized by my cousins. They all wore costumes, we played games, we sang a
