50 Questions Challenge, Day 28: Do you wish you lived closer to a certain someone or group of people?

I like where I am living, I am close to my relatives and friends but, my Mom and Dad live in the US and if there's any other place I would want to live, aside from the place where I am right now, it is with them.  I have been living almost my entire life away from them and I miss their presence. They never really saw me grow up because they have to work.  If I can just make the US a bus ride away from the Philippines, I probably have done that a long time ago. 

Absence makes the heart grow fonder.  It is true in my case.

Yes, I planned about changing my career.  I am already growing tired of bureaucracy, excessive politicking, communistic type of management.  I never knew that it is more rampant in private offices than in government agencies.  I am actually wondering how I get to live by it for almost 4 years now.  The last quarter of 2009, I already decided it is time to go and look for a better environment to use and hone my skills.   I extended my stay as requested by my dear friends at work.  Actually, it is just the company of friends that made it hard for me to deny their request of me staying for a little while.  The little while went on for months and  I could not believe that it is the last quarter already and I am still living the life and working the work. Afternoon Jeepney Ride

I am back... as if I've been gone for too long.  Nothing really magnificent happened but I had random thoughts while I was riding the jeepney on my way home.  I was thinking anxiously of meeting my long time friends for dinner today but for some reason it didn't push through because of conflicts in the schedule of one of our friends.  Here is where the randomness started... here are the things that I thought of:   1.  Do not judge a person by his/her picture... I saw the campaign poster of one politician running for vice-mayoralty post and I have met this politician in person for the first time a few weeks ago... totally opposite... I prefer the picture. 2.  To qualify to run for a government position in the Philippines is easy: one must be a Filipino, can read and write, of legal age...  it is easier to pass than to pass a college entrance examination. 3.  You can never fit 12 people in a 12-seater jeepney if at least one of the passengers we...

Good Things Happen To Good People

After more than a week of fretting about my internet connection and having no extra income as an effect, I am almost close to accepting that returning back to web full time will take me at least three weeks because I have a new sideline--which, of course will make me busy (even busier).  My online bosses were so considerate of me that they would just patiently wait until my virtual world becomes normal again.  I can hug them so tight! I will not anymore ask why oh why to the heavens above because despite the what I call unfortunate events after the typhoon, I am blessed with more than I am expecting.  It is pouring actually.  I couldn't be any happier and it just proved one thing--good things happen to good people. *Wink*
