Mobility Aid

We had a seminar about two years ago emphasizing that a person has to always think of excellence in everything that he does and it was initially presented with two disabled partners dancing--a woman has only one arm and her partner has only one leg.  Now, you can start wondering how did they manage to dance... they danced without riding a wheel chair or any mobility aid.  We were simply amazed.

Of course the two dancer underwent training to do those graceful moves. 

There are a lot of institutions who assist disabled individuals, elderly too, to learn how to do things that a non-disabled person can do and assist in finding a suitable mobility aid for them because no two persons have the same disability or mobility requirement--everything is personalized.  One organization that does this is NMEDA (National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association). 

NMEDA does not sell mobility aids but assist in finding the dealer with the perfect aid for a person.  You can find their dealers near you just by visiting their website and typing your zip code.  I checked mine and it is just a few blocks away.

NMEDA also makes sure that the products of the dealers  underwent evaluation through their Quality Assurance Program to make sure that patients get the best value for their money.  Their QAP is the only nationally accredited program of the Adaptive Mobility Equipment Industry.
