Basketball Training

I could still very well remember how my uncles would join inter-town basketball leagues. My aunts and I, together with my other cousins would go to the gym and watch their game. In my humble opinion, my uncles were the greatest basketball players in the league. Despite the television marathon watching every NBA or PBA games with my aunts, I never really had a formal basketball training aside from when it was a requisite physical education subject back in college. I do believe that we all have different talents, as for me, basketball is not one of those. I am not considering a training in the sport because I don't like running around the court trying to shoot the ball, I just like to watch in the bleachers and cheer my favorite team.

Captain America

Image
Captain America is my least favorite of Marvel superheroes, but, that was before I saw the movie. Today, I was able to see the human side of Captain America--how he struggled to become a soldier and how his heart made him America's superhero. Unlike other superheroes with super powers from other planets, Captain America shows that any regular guy (skinny even) can be anyone's superhero--you just have to have the right intentions and a good heart. I am going to spill a bit about the movie... I never heard any character said 'I love you' because they really don't need to--their feelings are too obvious. I think that Samuel L. Jackson is one of the most important characters of the movie despite his less than three minutes camera exposure and a few lines. Cast of Characters: Chris Evans - Steve Rogers/Captain America Hayley Atwell - Peggy Carter Sebastian Stan - James Buchanan 'Bucky' Barnes Tommy Lee Jones - Colonel Chester Phillips Hugo Wea...

Rekindling Old Friendship

I do believe that time heals all wounds and that true friends will always find their way back into each other no matter what.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

Image
TICKETS ARE ALREADY SOLD OUT! Geez! This is going to be the most emotional Harry Potter movie because it is the last, there will be no more. If you are a Harry Potter fan, you better not miss it! Watch the trailers here. I am going to miss Harry, Hermione, Ron and the rest of the gang. *Sob*

Good luck, Mr. Gorsky!

Image
Photo from  here . On July 20, 1969, as commander of the Apollo 11 Lunar Module, Neil Armstrong was the first person to set foot on the moon. His first words after stepping on the moon, "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind," were televised to earth and heard by millions. But just before he reentered the lander, he made the enigmatic remark, "Good luck, Mr. Gorsky!" Many people at NASA thought it was a casual remark concerning some rival Soviet cosmonaut. However, upon checking, there was no Gorsky in either the Russian or American space programs. Over the years, many people questioned Armstrong as to what the "Good luck, Mr. Gorsky" statement meant, but Armstrong always just smiled. On July 5, 1995, in Tampa Bay, Florida, while answering questions following a speech, a reporter brought up the 26-year-old question to Armstrong. This time he finally responded. Mr. Gorsky had died, so Neil Armstron...

When your child asks, "where is dad?"

When you are a solo parent, one of the hardest questions to answer is "Where is Dad?". When you are being asked by your child with that question, what do you say? These past few days, my son has been asking me the exact question. Although I know he is still too young to understand, I tried to tell him the truth one time but he got mad. I am actually running out of alibis. Any suggestions?

Transformers: Dark of the Moon

Image
Just saw Transformers: Dark of the Moon in 3D and it was awesome! I just wish there were vacant seats in the middle of the theater for the ultimate 3D experience. Despite the weird subtitle, Michael Bay really did a great job directing the movie, of course, with Steven Spielberg behind him. I think Rosie's English accent is cute, I wish she had more dialogues than screams. Anyway, the movie once again revived my fantasies: Bad ass cars Hermes and Louis Vuitton bags Christian Louboutin pumps Dr. McDreamy! I am giving it 5 stars. Watch the trailer here:

Random Clicks: Estancia Resort Hotel, Tagaytay City

Image
If you are tired of traffic, pollution of all sorts and you think you need to give yourself a break, you may want to consider spending two or three days in  Estancia Resort Hotel in Tagaytay City. For an hour of travel from Manila, you will be greeted with a spectacular view of the Taal Volcano--which is not so bad at all. The resort hotel also has music and video lounge, billiard hall, restaurants, children's playground and sauna. The restaurant overlooking the Taal Volcano. I like the lavender seats paired with white tables. My serving of iced tea with lavender mums as centerpiece of each table. The view outside the hotel. The indoor pool with jacuzzi, perfect for those who don't want to be exposed under the sun. The stairs lead to hotel rooms. The hotel rooms outside of the main building. The hotel rooms up close. This room is good for 2 to 3 persons. The pool area with sunken bar in the middle. The sunken bar up close. Th...
