Another Bad Dream

I seldom have bad dreams but when I do, it sure is a bad dream that sometimes come true.  Does that also happen to you?   In my dream, these two weird events happened in my grandparents' old house built in the 1950s, which happens to be where my house is currently at.  I don't know how exactly my dream started but I remembered that in the old kitchen just beside the comfort room, an exhibit of some sort is happening.  I looked inside the glass walled viewing area and there is this something that looks like a dinosaur's bones and lying above it is an unconscious creature, ogre-like, being observed by a scientist.  I waited, together with other spectators, to what will happen to the creature.  Minutes passed and at last the creature's fingers started to make some movement and before we could even ask the man inside the viewing area, it immediately got up and wandered around.  I was shocked and couldn't believe my eyes that I went out to catch some air.  Outside,

Change of Name

Do you visit my other blog, Social Vibe?  Well, I changed the title to Where The Wind Blows because I found out  that a non-profit organization's name is Social Vibe.  The URL to the blog is the same and you would still land on the same blog--everything is new there, the layout, the title and new entries after three months of letting it rot in my dashboard.  I am giving it more than the attention it needs now so take a look.    Thanks for dropping by!

Goodbye, Simon!

Image
Who would've thought that this season of American Idol is Simon Cowell's last? One of my main reasons for watching American Idol is to hear Simon's straightforward comments to the contestants.  His comments are sometimes harsh but he is just preparing them for the harshness of the entertainment industry.  Now that Simon will no longer be seen on Season 10 and the coming seasons, AI,will never be the same again.  I'd still watch AI but I doubt that it'll be as fun to watch now that Simon is gone on the show.  I hope the producers of the show will ask him todrop by from time to time.  I will surely miss his British accent, his wardrobe that includes the basic pants and shirts, his toothy smile and of course his comments. To take a look at Simon's almost nil transformation throughout the years of American Idol, click here . Goodbye, Simon!

Lee DeWyze: 2010 American Idol

Image
It is official, Lee DeWyze is the winner of American Idol Season 9. Lee has been one of my favorites of the season aside from Casey James, Siobhan Magnus, and Michael Lynche.  This 25-year old guy from Illinois beat Crystal Bowersox--the early favorite of the season.  His best performances of the season were Shania Twain's You're Still the One , Kiss From A Rose by Seal and his duet with Crystal, Falling Slowly . Many are doubting if he deserves to win but let's give the guy a chance... he has the looks and talent.

Diapers + Jeans

Image
Are those diapers actually made of jeans?  I am confused a little bit.  I bought Huggies diapers last week and they are not made of jeans fabric---just printed like jeans.  I actually find them cute and my son likes it also, he thinks those are briefs that he removes them if he will pee or poop.

Random Clicks: Villa Buenaflor Beach Resort

Image
We will have a seminar tomorrow and one of my tasks from being a coordinator is to make sure the venue is perfect so I checked it today together with my colleague.  A lot of things have changed since the last time we had a seminar in Villa Buenaflor Beach Resort in Brgy. Calibuyo, Tanza , Cavite and I wouldn't miss the chance of having some clicks before we call it a day.  This is the view from the 2nd floor of the newly built hotel facing Manila Bay and Bataan Province. The Corregidor Island in Bataan is just an hour away from Villa Buenaflor. The rows of acacia trees give shade to the spacious resort. Lush greens surrounding the resort. Top view of the hotel ground floor's lounge area.

Favorite Photo of the Day: Great Great Grandpa's Lap

Image
That's my son when he was 6 months old having some photo-op with our great grandpa (Lance's great great grandpa) while he was lounging at the terrace on his favorite rocking chair.  I could still remember, as if only happened yesterday, that whenever he hears my son cry (grandpa's vision was impaired because of his age) he would  ask if I have fed him or maybe my son is sleepy or is wet or pooped.  Everything he would tell me about my son for me isn't scolding but caring and loving.  I thank God for giving my son a chance to be with our great grandpa even for just a short while.  He died on July 17, 2009 and we will miss him forever.

Finding the Perfect Nanny

Months before I gave birth to my son, aside from the many other concerns a parent has , I was already concerned about who will take care of him when I start working again.  I asked my grandmother if she could recommend someone to be my son's nanny during daytime.  Lucky for me, we have networks and good neighbors to assist me in finding the perfect nanny.  Finding a nanny is as hard as mining gold.  Everything has to be planned accordingly like if I have enough budget for the salary, what benefits should I give, the rules that needs to be followed and all sorts of things crucial to my child's welfare.  I have heard many stories about abusive nannies and nannies who are being abused and I don't want these horrible stories to happen in my household.  I have read many tips on how to find a nanny but so far, this article gives the best and straightforward tips that are easy to apply. The Search - a wide network helps in finding a nanny.  Recommendation by friends and rel

Here Comes the Bride: A Crazy Soul Mix Up

Chris Martinez gives us another tear jerking comedy movie with Eugene Domingo as one of the lead stars.  I saw Here Comes the Bride yesterday with my office mates and we laughed from the beginning until the end.  It was really hilarious!  It is probably my second favorite comedy movie of all time--KimmyDora being my most favorite.  It is a story of five individuals whose lives were changed after a fateful accident on the Magnetic Road of Rizal one morning at exactly the same time a total solar eclipse occurred--all of them are heading to the resort to witness a beach wedding.  When they arrived at the resort, the five souls ( Angelica Panganiban , Eugene Domingo, Jaime Fabregas, Tuesday Vargas and John Lapus ) got all mixed up.  Angelica's soul transferred to Eugene's body while hers moved to Tuesday's, Tuesday's went to Jaime's,  Jaime's soul entered John's body, and John's soul to Angelica's. Angelica plays the role of a shy, virginal girl who

Guide to Gaydom

I have many gay friends and I wonder why they are called gay.  Was it because they are naturally happy and jolly?  I will not spend much time searching for the answer, all I know is that they make me laugh and they teach me so many things about life. I was never an anti-gay or anti-lesbian, I actually don't consider them as different from the rest of us who are "straight", it just so happens that they have different preferences.  I have heard many a sad stories about them being afraid of coming out because their family might disown them and much more triumphant stories of them being accepted.  I remember one of my friends who 'straightens up' whenever he's at home but 'loosens up' whenever he's with us.  It is sad that in front of his family, he becomes a different person. I am glad that they are now being accepted for who they are and that more and more are starting to come out and share their experience to the world.  I have found this site

Blog Entry of the Day: An Email by Karl Lagerfeld

Image
Karl is watching you demode ones. Karl Lagerfeld, yes the famous fashion designer, received an email from a certain Naomi Sanders who is opening a shopping website for "comfortable fashion and ugg boots".  He asked Karl, and all other who received the same email, to mention her site in their websites and in return she would gladly pay them $55 via PayPal.  There is nothing wrong with asking a little help from a fashion and style guru such as Karl but he replied something that is at the borderline of unexpected.  Want to know what it is?  Click here ... it was funny!

Favorite Photo of the Day: Guard Hunting

Image
My son badly needs some rest after walking for about an hour looking for the guard who has the entrance ticket to the pool area.  Of course the entrance ticket was just a made up story to lure him out of swimming again because it was already 10 in the evening.  After getting tired of looking for the guard he said, "Mommy, let's go home."

Random Clicks: Island Cove

Image
It was a Sunday but I wasn't home to facilitate a seminar at Island Cove in Kawit, Cavite.  While the speaker gives his lecture inside the seminar hall, I went out to steal some clicks of the vicinity.  The Path to Comfort This path leads to the Mexican inspired hotel. The Comfort Zone The hotel from the side. Lucky Seven The path that leads to the fishing area and floating restaurant.   The Lonely Lamp Post The garden outside the seminar hall that will be lighted by this solitary lamp post at night.

Greyson Michael Chance "Paparazzi" Version

I had major goosebumps from beginning until the end of Greyson Michael Chance's version of Lady Gaga's Paparazzi.  Justin Bieber, behold, think of other strategies or better yet move aside because this boy is really good!  Did I just say I had goosebumps again???  His version is wicked and Lady Gaga wouldn't not be disappointed that this guy rearranged it and made it his own.  I am the 11 millionth something who viewed his video on You Tube and you can watch it too right here.

Favorite Photo of the Day: Can I Have A Bite?

Image
I took this photo last Monday.  I accompanied my cousin and nieces to McDonald's for their 2nd of the last day as a Kiddie Crew.  While waiting for the two hours of their training, my son and I had a little snack.  I bought him a McNuggets Happy Meal and I chose Shrek as his free toy.  As you can see it is as if Shrek would like to have a bite of the nugget.

Philippines' 2010 National Election (Part 2)

Image
Before I went to sleep, I accomplished my cheat note, I wrote all the numbers of the lucky politicians who will get my vote so that I will not stay long inside the voting precinct.  I set my alarm to 6 o'clock.  Well, I woke up when the clock hit 6 but I just ignored it and allowed myself a transition period of 30 minutes before I actually wake up.  Officially, I woke up at quarter to seven, relatively early compared to my normal waking up time.  I am off to the voting precinct after an hour and nothing and nobody prepared me for what I have to endure just to exercise my right.  Here are those things: 1. In the previous elections, there are at least 8 precincts open from 6 in the morning until 3 in the afternoon but this time it was different... the 8 were divided in half and that means a very long queue.   2. I have anticipated that lines would be long but I thought today's election is automated so it wouldn't be that hard.  I am wrong!  I waited for about two hours t

Philippines' 2010 National Election (Part 1)

Image
Five hours left before opening of the voting precincts in the Philippines and five hours left before we could test if the controversial PCOS Machine of Smartmatic will work flawlessly.  Wait for my next entry after I cast my vote.  Which reminds me, I still haven't written on my cheat pad the lucky politicians who will get my vote in just a few hours.  I need some divine intervention for this.

Iron Man 2

Image
I watched Iron Man 2 today with my girl friends and I had a great time.  I wasn't able to watch the first one so I got a little bit confused at first.  I finally got the hang of it because the movie was so great. After six months of admitting that the man behind the Iron Man suit is the CEO of Stark Industires, Tony Stark ( Robert Downey Jr. ), the US Government is still not convinced that he will and can maintain peace.  He was asked by Sen. Stern to hand over the suit because he believes that its technology might be copied and be used for terrorism.  Of course, Stark did not handed down the suit and proved that the senator's claims are actually to benefit his company's rival--Hammer.  Little did Stark know that his father wasn't the only one who had knowledge of the technology he's been using.  In the cold and icy part of Russia, Ivan Vanko ( Mickey Rourke ), the son of his father's co-scientist knows the technology and is just waiting for the right time to
